Prayers Heal. Do they?

Different people view prayer differently. Prayer is the manifestation of hope in human beings when there seems to be a need of some guidance in our lives. Prayer has been described as the key to the morning and bolt of the evening. It is said that there is no peace without God’s grace, and no God’s grace without prayer. Contrary to what we might think, prayer is not an old woman’s idle amusement but the most potent instrument of health when understood properly. He explained that to believe in prayer, one needs to harbor a living faith in God and with prayer, it is possible to steady nerves, humble oneself and provide guidance to the next step to be taken.

Prayers heal through spiritual healing where one accepts God to be beyond one’s intelligence and worthy of having a relationship. God is a source of inspiration, joy, peace of mind and security to human beings. According to Ayurveda, prayers heal when positive energy through thoughts of God is transmitted to the person who has to be healed.

This treatment that prayers offers tends to work on the body, spirit and mind which in turn work together for good health. Sometimes, a healer is also involved in the healing process where the healer places a hand on the person being treated wherein energy is channeled from God. This form of treatment is great in treating mental and emotional problems and physical conditions like frozen shoulder.

It should be noted that the healer who channels energy is the energy that is not generated from him but instead is the energy of God that is channeled through him. Instead of using a healer, prayer is quite sufficient to treat a health condition. Ayurveda explains that the divine energy of God that is manifested through prayers helps in healing most of the health conditions. This healing source that God provides is available to anyone who needs it, through prayer.

According to Ayurveda it is necessary that the mind, spirit and body work in harmony for positive health. This is why any problem that needs healing like a broken leg or depression needs power of healing for the balance of the whole body which is provided through prayers. This is because Ayurveda knows that all ailments start in the mind, and the inner levels of the body, which can be reached through prayers. And once this level is reached, the healing process starts in the body.

The concept of prayers used for healing of ailments is not only a division of Ayurveda, but also a part of new age. It has now been accepted that there is healing through wisdom which has grown in leaps and bounds in new age. There are numerous books propagating spirituality and religion, where the significance of healing through prayers has been proven. Today, there is a growing hunger for people to get attached and connected to the divine force, and this is possible through prayers.
